  48. About the Author

So many thanks to the dream team at Forever Romance for their work in launching this new series. Lexi Smail really earned her pay on this one, from when I sent her a not-very-well-thought-out paragraph to when I delivered a hulking, monster manuscript. Estelle Hallick started messaging me photos of mermaid knickknacks a year ago, making me wonder if she was somehow channeling Great-Aunt Lucille without even having read the book. Elizabeth Stokes delivered the pink cover of Evie’s (and my) dreams. Leah Hultenschmidt swooped in and took over with the perfect mix of enthusiasm and sympathy.

Thanks, as always, to Sandra Owens for reading an early draft, and to Courtney Miller-Callihan for steadfast support and relentless cheerleading.

Thanks to Elizabeth Gabriel for helping me figure out what Eve’s dream library job could be.

Finally, thanks to my Facebook reader group (join us: we’re Northern Heat!) for lots of discussion about the ins and outs of getting locked in refrigerators.
