She recognized the first one from the news: Liu Xingyu. President Liu now, after his father died. She’d always liked Liu Incorporated. Hadn’t been much of a fan of the last President Liu, but she’d always thought Liu Xingyu handsome and charming, just like everyone else did. Of course, after meeting Liu Xiaokai that time two months ago, she’d developed a kind of preference for him, like a teenager for an idol. She’d even set up to record that interview that was supposed to happen a week or so ago, and even though it only ended up being half as long as was planned, she was enraptured at her screen anyway, smiling softly. A lot of the comments on that video talked about how Liu Xiaokai seemed unapproachable, since he didn’t smile as often as President Liu. Wang Li knew better. He didn’t smile as often, but he had these warm, kind eyes. He’d had them when he came to the airport that time, and he had them in the interview, too. He seemed like the kind of person who could make anyone around him feel understood. Wang Li wanted to see him just one more time, just to talk to him and tell him…she wasn’t sure what she would tell him. She didn’t have the confidence to do something like ask for his number, and he probably couldn’t give it to her anyway since he was so important in his company. Actually, when President Liu first walked in, she thought it was Liu Xiaokai for a second—and got excited—but then she saw the long hair and the look in his eyes.

He did look a lot like Liu Xiaokai. A little taller, maybe, and with longer hair, but at initial glance the rest was identical: same dark phoenix eyes, same mouth that curved at the edges, same sharp jawline and pronounced cheekbones, same slim figure. But it was those eyes that was the key difference, when you looked closer—President Liu’s seemed colder. Not at all like Liu Xiaokai.

He moved in and Wang Li could practically feel the power emanating off him. He commanded the room. Liu Xiaokai commanded attention and admiration, but President Liu demanded obedience.
