- ABOUT THE AUTHOR
- ALSO BY DEVYN SINCLAIR
I was curled on my side, a warm body pressed against mine. Summer jam and sweet tea. Soft skin. Rylan. Blinking open my eyes, I looked up at him, letting him come into focus in front of the twinkle lights on the ceiling of the nest. He smiled. “Hey, beautiful.”
“Hi.” I didn’t move, very comfortable in the soft blanket and pressed up against a lot of his bare skin. “How long was I sleeping?”
“A few hours. We called Eva. She knows you’re alive and well.”
“That’s good.”
My stomach rumbled again, and I slowly sat up. I felt dizzy. Just the movement felt like it unlocked the fire under my skin, sparking need and more. But I was hungry.
They were all in the nest with me, an entire array of Chinese food containers on a big tray. And I wasn’t entirely prepared for the sight of such hot men eating Chinese food naked.
“Want something to eat, baby girl?” Avery was the next closest to me.
“We weren’t sure what your favorite food was. But if you tell us, we’ll make sure to have it next time.” Ben said between bites of rice.
I laughed, still a little hazy. “Most of the time I just like food.”
Luke laughed too. “Good to know. But I’d still like a list of things you like after you tell us what you want.”
My mouth was dry. That was the first thing. “Water.”
A bottle appeared in front of me, and I drank all of it in one go. Fuck water was good. Why didn’t I drink more water? My heat-clouded mind laughed.
“Here,” Avery grabbed something soft and gray. “I got these while we were at the store. They’ll help keep you warm.”
Tugging a foot toward him, he started slipping the fabric over my toes. They were socks. Not just socks, soft ones that stretched all the way to the middle of my thighs. Every part of me stood up and paid attention to his fingers on my skin as he pulled them up.
“You bought them for me?”
“A heat gift,” he said with a quiet smile. “We all have one, but I thought these might be helpful now.”
I blushed, running my hands over the softness. “I love them. Thank you.”
Leaning in, he kissed me briefly. I tried to make it last, but he pulled away with a chuckle. “You’re welcome, baby girl. And the kissing can wait a couple minutes. You need to eat something.”
A plate was passed my direction, and I saw it had a little sampling of everything on the big tray. I was starving. Instinctually, I knew I couldn’t eat too much, because another wave was going to snap into focus, and I didn’t want to be full to bursting when I was asking them to fuck me.
