… Look! There’s that nice woman who works at the café in Rye, and another woman from the bank-ank-ank, and look! Mrs Barrow-arrow-arrow is serving tea from a giant urn, and Mr Barrow-arrow-arrow is deep in conver … conversat … is talking … is talk … with a tiny, golden angel …!

… Look! A beaut … a beaut … a little, golden angel …! With her … with …

… And I … I real-eel-eel-eel … I real-eel-eel-ized without even … even … realizing-zing-zing-ing that it was Orla Nor Cleary who had come so very far to get here and to be here on this day and … and over by the water was Bran Cleary hide … hide … standing behind an easel painting-ting-ting the scene and he was unrecog … unrec … so badly burned – not his skin, but inside … inside! – but that was then and now he was fine but still-ill-ill and how to …?

… there were other people there who I … who had been a part of … like Alys Jane … like … like … holding a little bird cage which was a … a little screen … of … of feelings … and there was a parrot … a … a bird … inside it who when you pressed something softly-lee-lee he began to sing … to caw … to tweet-eat-eat and just … he took to the wing and then he … I can’t really …

… and everyone was talking and laughing-ing-ing and the echo-ho-ho and the reverba … reverbaray-ray-ray-ray-ray … it was so … so … like something solid and yet liquid which … which …

… but we were only really … were only really … all eyes were upon-on-on-on … just watching-ing-ing the little angel who was holding-ing-ing out her arms which were tiny arms but long arms because it was … so … so warm … and for ever and … and always-zays-zays and … and … and her arms were full of white flowers and people would come forward, one by one, and bury their faces into the flowers because … the scent was so … so … so beautiful and clean and when they lifted their heads-eds-eds-eds again they would be laughing and crying too, and some of them … well, they just melted clean away with the joy-oy-oy of it all …

… and Sorcha stood close by … by the angel-gel-gel … sur … sur … surrounded-ed-ed by little lambs-ambs-ambs with a … a big … a big eye-ay-ay-ay in the mid … the mid … in the centre of her hand-and-and which would … which was rec … rec … recording-ding-ding everything that the angel did and said and every … everything-ing-ing that happened, and once she had recorded it she would send it … post it … mail it … around the world and then it returned before it was even gone-on-on-on full of light-ight-ight because the more-ore-ore it trav … jour … trav … moved … flew, then the faster and the brighter and the clearer-rer-rer-rer it came back … but …
