The natural outcome of these games, it seems to me, is love. This assumes, of course, that there is initial and continuing affection and trust among partners. They are emotional dynamite, of course. For that reason they should not be played by individuals who either are not that fond of one another, do not have that much trust in one another or who, for one reason or another, should not fall in love. The ideal framework, it seems to me, for the practice of these love games is marriage. They can transform a marriage into an incredibly exciting, fantastic affair. Used outside of marriage, however, there is danger that they might precipitate emotional involvements which would then lead to marriage, regardless of the desirability of the particular marriage on independent grounds. These games can constitute a repair of marriage, an enhancement of marriage, a transformation of marriage. One must be careful that they do not constitute an inducement to marriage. Marriage is a complex human relationship which requires for its success, one supposes, more than exquisite mutual pleasures.
