Okay. Just get out of the garden, and the Dreds will get me.

They had probably been watching all the time since she’d left Scotland. She must be insane to throw herself into their clutches, but it felt like destiny. If Victorija had any part of the younger Torija still in her, she owed it to Angele to try and find it.

Once the warriors had passed, Daisy ran to the garden gate and left the garden. She ran the opposite way from the Debrek front door and came out on a busy street. It was late, but London was never asleep.

She walked down the street for a few minutes, and nobody approached her. It probably wasn’t quiet enough for the Dreds to grab her. Daisy flagged down a taxi and got in.

“Where to, miss?”

“London Bridge, please.”

The bridge seemed like a good open space for the Dreds to pick her up, and it was likely to be quiet at this time of night.

Before long they had arrived. Daisy paid the driver and walked to the middle of the bridge. She leaned on the railing and realized she probably looked like a jumper. Daisy just prayed this would work. She was crazy, allowing herself to get captured and taken to the lion’s den, but if you wanted to help the lion, then you must go to their den.

“Daisy MacDougall?”

Daisy shut her eyes and tried to gather her courage. She slowly turned around and saw a blacked-out Jeep and five or six vampires, she presumed, standing in front of her. One stepped forward and said, “Hello, Daisy, my name is Leo. It’s pointless to run—we are faster and stronger than you.”

Daisy surprised them, she thought, by being calm, cool, and collected on the outside. “Yes, I know.” She walked to the car and said, “Shall we get going, Vamp?”

Leo furrowed his brow. “Yes, please.”

“Not a bother.” Daisy felt far from calm on the inside, but it was amusing to see the looks on the Dred vampires’ faces.

Anka thrust herself up and down on the male body underneath her. This was when Anka enjoyed her powers the most, drawing the energy from another person, and she was doing that just now.

“Anka, please?” the man said.

She didn’t even remember the man’s name, but that was no matter. Anka grasped his chin and said sharply, “That’s Madam Anka to you.”

“Madam Anka, may I come inside you.”

“Don’t be ridiculous. Only the very special are allowed to do that, and it’s not you.” Anka insisted on using condoms. There was only one person with whom she didn’t.

Her denial only seemed to excite him more. “Sorry. I need—”
