- Don't miss out!
My hands freeze when the room grows silent.
“Anything I can help you with?” Logan asks, politely but with a hint of irritation in his voice.
“God, I hope Sierra doesn’t get any of these piercings,” she tells my father, ignoring Logan behind the counter. I can see his nostrils flare, biting down the urge to tell her off.
My dad scoffs. “Sierra wouldn’t come to a place like this.”
Logan clears his throat. I can see his eyes travel back down to where I’m hiding.
Which only makes me question why I’m hiding at all. Why don’t I stand here with him, proud to be his friend, or whatever we are? But just as I’m about to stand and say fuck it all, I hear the bells chime as my parents leave.
The moment they’re out of sight, I’m being lifted up like a ragdoll and pinned against the back wall while Logan attacks my mouth with this. He nibbles at my lips as he kisses me, grinding his erection against my core, and I love this undone version of him. I make a mental note to drive him crazy more often. The result is delicious.
“This week is going to kill me,” he groans against my lips.
I wish I could help him find relief, but Murph will be back any second, and we don’t have the time for anything else. Finally, he pulls away and paces around the room like an injured animal. Holding his hands on his head, he takes long, deep breaths.
“Sorry,” I mumble.
“Don’t be. You’re more fun than I expected.” He winks at me.
“They’re awful. I’m sorry,” I say, hoping to lighten the mood.
“Don’t apologize for them. But why not just be honest with them? If you don’t want to go to college, just tell them. You want to stay on Wickett, just tell them.”
“It’s not that easy, Logan.”
He plants a quick kiss on my lips before walking away to clean his station and put away some supplies.
“This is all very Dirty Dancing,” I say with a sly smile.
He stops working and glances back at me. “What the hell are you talking about?” he asks.
“Dirty Dancing. You know…the rich girl and the local boy with a bad reputation.”
“You think I have a bad reputation?” He winks at me as he tosses a bottle of water from the mini fridge my way. I catch it and watch him.
“Wait. You’ve seen Dirty Dancing, right?”
“Can’t say that I have,” he says, and my jaw drops.
“Well I know what we’re doing tonight.”
“Watching a movie?”
I can see the hesitation in his expression.
“Yeah. We can watch it at your place.”
“Uh…” he grumbles.
“What’s wrong with that?” I ask, leaning against the counter.
He turns and walks toward me, placing both hands on either side of the counter, blocking me in. “Well, for one,” he says, tilting his head, teasing me with the hope of a kiss that he pulls away. “I live in a small one-room studio apartment above the shop, so probably not what you’re used to. And two,” he continues, pulling back and leaving me breathless. “I’m not sure you and I could be alone together in my apartment if we want to keep up our bargain.”
