I opened my mouth but before I got any words out Asher lunged and hooked me around the waist. One second, he was standing across the room the next he had me pressed against him with his mouth close to my ear.
“No talking,” he whispered. “You get me?” I nodded once and he continued. “We’re going up. And it seriously fucks me to say this, but we’re going in a viewing room.”
Tension coiled so tight in my stomach that I’d no longer be lying if I said I was dizzy.
“Sweetness, you know,” Asher growled softly. “You fucking know that shit does nothing for me. This isn’t about that. It’s about me covering you until you can get out of here. And you doing the same for me.”
He was right—I knew he didn’t get off on watching and neither did I, but down in the darkest recesses of my mind I wondered if that was because I’d never watched with him.
“I know,” I whispered back.
“When I walked in you looked scared.” He was still speaking in low tones, and I was beginning to wonder if he was worried there were cameras in the room.
I wouldn’t put it past Lorenzo.
In lieu of answering, I nodded again.
“Did he threaten you?”
I shook my head.
“But he scared you?”
“I heard something.” Asher’s body went solid against mine.
“Not here.”
Oh, yeah, he totally thought there were cameras in here.
As soon as I acknowledged his directive his face came away from my ear and as it did his lips brushed over the hinge of my jaw, over my cheek, and in a barely there sweep they grazed over my lips. That might’ve been the single sexiest sorta-kiss I’d ever experienced. And since I’d kissed Asher—really kissed him—I knew how he could steal my breath with a single swipe of his tongue, so that was saying something. I’d also had the pleasure of him bringing me to orgasm and still that lip sweep was more intimate.
“You look beautiful tonight,” he said in a normal tone of voice. I lamely stared up at him not yet recovered when Asher broke the spell. “Before we go up do you remember what I told you?”
He told me a lot of things in the last twenty-four hours, none of which I could remember with him so close.
I blinked. Asher didn’t, his eyes stayed glued to mine while he finished shattering the illusion. “You may watch but no touching. I do not share. Period.”
The cameras.
Everything in my life was a lie.
The lip brush was fake.
I desperately wished that it was real.

This had to be rock bottom. Only it wasn’t jagged, sharp edges of stone I felt. It was Asher’s chest against my back. It was his strong thighs under my ass. It was his hand on my hip and his chin on my shoulder as he watched the couple on the platform in front of us.
