“Yup.”

“Yay!” Brooklyn squeezed my hand.

But it was Letty’s response that startled me. She dropped her head onto my knee and burst into tears.

“Don’t mind her,” Brooklyn started. “She’s pregnant and emotional but she’s pretending… well, not pretending, she’s hiding it because she hasn’t told her parents yet that she and River went behind everyone’s back and got married in Vegas. She thinks that’s a secret, too, but it’s not. River hasn’t told his siblings yet either. I don’t know who I’m more afraid of—River’s sister, Shiloh, or Letty’s mom, Tally.”

I felt Letty shaking and I was growing concerned that she was going to hyperventilate from crying so hard when I heard the giggle.

“Are you freaking serious?” Sadie snapped.

“C’mon, you knew she was pregnant. She hasn’t had a drink in like three months,” Brooklyn volleyed.

“Of course, I knew she was knocked up. But all this time I felt bad for eloping, and she did, too.”

I glanced around the room and found all of the men were smiling. They knew Letty and River had gotten married.

Oh, by the way, River…he was like the next size up in good-looking men. I’d never met a man as tall as he was in real life. And his eyes were the bluest of blue. He and Letty were going to have a beautiful baby.

“Sorry,” Letty muttered against my leg.

“You’re not sorry,” Sadie snapped then she looked at her husband with narrowed eyes. “You knew!”

Reese smartly didn’t confirm nor deny.

River looked completely unfazed by Sadie's snit and totally content.

Cole was pinching his lips, no doubt to keep a smart-ass comment at bay.

Rhode was staring at Brooklyn while his shaking his head but he, too, was smiling.

I didn’t know Jack and Davis beyond the helloes we’d exchanged but they looked amused at Letty’s antics.

It was Wilson’s gaze that held me captive. When I’d met him, he’d been friendly. The next time I saw him, he didn’t look all that happy. But right then, he was smiling at me. But that wasn’t what had fascinated me. It was the wink he gave me before he transferred his stare to Asher.

“When are the movers picking up Sloane’s stuff?” Rhode asked from the doorway of my office.

“Tomorrow, they go over there to pack. The next day, it’ll be on its way.”

“You still need to store the furniture in my outbuilding?”

All of my furniture was being stored on one side of my garage and the rest was in a small shed. In the last three weeks, Sloane and I had made progress on the living room but it was nowhere near furniture-ready yet.

“Yeah, if that’s still cool.”

“You know it is. I was just wondering because Brook had…”

Rhode trailed off when my office phone rang.

“Who the hell is calling you on the landline? Who even has that number?”

That was a good question. One that was easily solved.
