With that, the fucker winked before he walked away.

Un-fucking-believable.

I barely contained my disgust as I made my way to the bank of windows that overlooked the expansive backyard. Off in the distance, I could see the fence where the horseback rider had found the young girl. A few hours ago, I’d had my doubts.

Now I had questions.

Was Lorenzo Kelly running a side racket, or was Marco Kelly and the whole club tainted?

I needed to talk to Wilson and Cole. Unfortunately, there were no phones allowed in the mansion.

I had less than an hour until the club closed.

Little did I know an hour and ten minutes later the world under my feet would shift. And when my world rocked my future was cemented.

I was going to have a heart attack. But before that, I was going to crash my car. I was driving way too fast but I needed to get the hell away from Adam.

I enjoy fresh.

At first, I didn’t understand what that meant.

Then I did.

And if I wanted to keep her?

Keep her.

I didn’t understand that either.

Then I did.

Oh, boy, did I understand that Adam was talking about buying a virgin from Lorenzo.

Gross.

So disgusting, I didn’t hear the rest of the conversation because I was afraid I was going to puke on the marble floor, so I tiptoed back to the kitchen.

My plan to seduce Adam was officially over. There was a lot I would do to find information about Elise’s disappearance. Having sex with a deranged, repulsive asshole was not one of those things. He wanted to buy a human. A woman. A virgin.

Buy a woman.

I knew. In my heart of hearts, I knew that was what happened to my friend. The police had tried, they’d investigated, but there were no clues. No credit cards used, no money taken out of the bank, her car had been in her space at the apartment, no break-in, no robbery, no calls or texts from her phone which had been in her purse on her bed. Nothing. Just gone. I didn’t want to believe it and at first, I held onto hope that she was coming home. But deep down, I knew she was a victim of sex trafficking. I didn’t know how I knew but I did.

And Lorenzo. The guy was a creep. He freaked everyone out with his weird stares and the way he licked his lips. But he wasn’t around very much, and Elise had never mentioned him to me. Not that she’d ever used members’ names. That wasn’t allowed; the NDA every member signed protected them from being outed. The club wasn’t a secret, and nothing prevented the members who wanted to share that they belonged to such a club from doing so. Elise was one of the members who didn’t care, at least she didn’t care that I knew. So she shared, but most of it was the fun she was having. How nice everyone was. How much she enjoyed being around people who didn’t judge her for liking what she liked.
