ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Since the first time I read Confessions of a Shopaholic many, many years ago, I knew I wanted to write my very own rom-com one day. The transition from YA to adult romance has been an adventure, but I’ve been so very lucky to have the best team behind me, smoothing the way. Authors tend to write these acknowledgments pages pretty early on in the publishing process, and because of that, I don’t always know who to thank and inevitably miss people.
Not this time. I’ve got a list! Firstly, a big thanks to my editor, Vicki Lame, who didn’t even bat an eye when I sent her my adult manuscript after years of writing YA stories. Thank you for always pushing me to torture my characters more, but myself less.
Thank you to Kerri Resnick, who designed the cover of Built to Last. I’ve never not gasped in happiness at one of Kerri’s covers, but this one in particular made me giddy.
To Alexis Neuville, who I’ve called my hero at least twice this month already. Thank you for always being there with a super-quick fix to my tedious marketing questions. Marketing can be pretty awkward for authors, but it’s far less so when you have someone so sweet and capable as Lexi advising you.
Mary Moates has been my publicist on my last few books, and it was such a relief to hear we’d still get to work together in adult. Ditto on the “sweet and capable.” Thank you for your unrelenting encouragement and enthusiasm, Mary!
Thank you, Vanessa Aguirre, for keeping everything running smoothly. With multiple books in multiple stages, I don’t know where I would be without Vanessa keeping me on track. You. Are. Amazing.
