That’s all I get out before Jasper is out from beneath me and taking charge. He flips me onto my back, never missing a beat as he slams back inside of me.

“Don’t hold back, baby.” He grabs my ankles and spreads me wide in front of him, never slowing his pace as he locks me in place, leaving me no option but to take what he’s giving me. “That’s it.”

He lets go of one of my legs, his hand moving directly to where I need it, and that does it.

“Oh my god!” I don’t care who hears me. In fact, I hope they do. I hope I wake up the entire town of Salida as the second orgasm rips me wide open. My vision turns Technicolor and my legs wrap tight around Jasper as his weight falls on top of me. His groan registers deep inside me and his pace slows with his final pumps of release.

He stays on top of me and I wind myself around him like a baby koala, clinging tight to him as our breathing evens out, both of our bodies slick with sweat.

“That was . . .” I try to think of any word that could accurately describe what that was but come up empty. “I don’t actually know what that was, but I do know it was the best I’ve ever had.”

I’m sure there are countless articles written advising women to say the opposite of what I just said. I bet most people would think I was crazy not to hold my cards close to my chest, not letting Jasper know how much he obliterated my freaking world. But I don’t care.

Because as someone who has never had great before, I know exactly how hard it is to find. And now that I got it, I’m not going to hesitate to let him know how much I like it. If things go down between the two of us, it won’t be because I played stupid games.

I like Jasper.

I more than like him.

And it’s time I stop being afraid of it coming to an end and do whatever I can to make sure that never happens.

“The best.” His lips touch my forehead and his happy, sated eyes take me in. “But I got you all sweaty again. I think it’s only fair that I wash you off this time.”

“I mean . . .” I bite back my smile, pretending to consider this offer. “I guess fair is fair.”

He tightens his arms around me and takes me with him as he rolls us off the bed. My giggle fills the room as he runs to the small bathroom and only sets me on my feet when we’re in front of the shower.
