“You have to explain everything to me!” Sincere barked, squeezing her wrists tighter.

“No, the fuck I don’t!”

“You talking real slick. The same way you was five years ago when you was fucking that nigga. Christen probably his son!”

Kisa snatched her right wrist out of his grasp and slapped him with all her strength. “How dare you! You know he’s your son! He looks exactly like you.”

“If you feed anybody long enough, they’ll start to look like you.”

“You are a heartless black bastard,” she said, peering into his eyes. “Don’t worry, though. DNA says that he is yours.”

“So you snuck and had Christen tested? You must’ve thought there was a chance that he was CoCo’s son.”

“I did nothing of the sort. You must not remember the doctors had to test you before they allowed you to give him blood when he was really sick two years ago.” Kisa yanked her other wrist free. “Sincere, you are so pathetic! You’re the one always out doing wrong, but steady accusing me.”

“Hey!” The building’s security guard yelled, coming from across the garage, “Is everything okay over there, Mrs. Montega?”

“Yeah, Jim, everything is fine,” Kisa said, smoothing her disheveled hair and forcing a smile. “This is my husband. We were just playing around.”

“Oh, sorry for disturbing. You have a good night.” The guard turned and headed back to his office.

Kisa shoved Sincere away and retrieved her purse from the back of the car. “I suggest you come on upstairs in case someone else called the police. You know they’re still looking for you.” Leading the way, Kisa placed a call to Eisani.

“What up, Kane?” Eisani answered.

“What you doing, E?”

“I just got through putting some money up.”

“Were you able to get rid of that new thing that came through?”

“I sure was. Boogie and Shake jumped all over that deal.”

“That’s good. How much of that other thing we got left?” Kisa asked.

“Um, like three or four.”

“That’s it?” Kisa questioned.

“Yeah, ole boy from upstate damn near wiped us out by himself.”

“Aight. Well, I need you to meet your sister at the spot in about forty-five minutes and give her whatever is left. I was going to meet her, but something came up,” Kisa said, cutting her eyes at Sincere.

“Is everything okay?”

“Yeah, I’m straight.”

“I’m not far from the spot, so I’ll head there now and take care of TaTa.”

“Good looking out, E. Call me when you’re done. I want you to go with me whenever I get the word from Mish.”
