What now? Kisa wondered as she took a few sips from her martini, then pulled out twenty dollars from her purse for her drink. “I hate to be rude, but something has come up.”
Alexandria picked up the money and gave it back to Kisa. “Don’t insult me like this.”
“Whatever, Alex.” Kisa smiled. “Good-bye, everyone.” Kisa walked briskly out of the restaurant. “What happened?” Kisa asked Eisani as she climbed up into the truck. “Did Mish find the girl?”
“Yeah, she called and said she found out where that chick is staying, but that’s not why I sent the text.”
Kisa studied Eisani’s face. She could tell that something bad had happened. Bracing herself for the news, Kisa asked, “What is it, E?”
“Your old salon was shot up. Tyeis was hit twice in the leg, but she is going to be okay.”
“Oh God!” Kisa exclaimed, covering her mouth.
“That’s not all … they firebombed your spa too. Nobody over there got hurt, though.”
All of the color drained from Kisa’s face. Her head throbbed, and she became severely nauseated. She opened the truck’s door, leaned over, and vomited.
Eisani grabbed some napkins from the glove box and a bottle of water from the backseat. “Here, Kane. Are you okay?”
“Yes,” Kisa replied, taking the water and swishing it around in her mouth. She spit the water out, then cleaned her mouth with the napkins. “Let’s go uptown.”
“Where do you want to go—to the hospital to check on Tyeis?”
“No, we can’t go to the hospital. You know Suef is behind this shit. They probably waiting for us to show up so they can shoot at us. I want to ride by the shop and spa.”
Kisa’s old salon, which was currently owned by Tyeis, had little damage besides the shattered glass front. Too bad the same couldn’t be said for Kisa’s spa. Due to the presence of the chemical products used at the spa, the flames had spread rapidly, causing severe damage to the spa and the adjoining businesses. Kisa was irate that her completely innocent younger cousin had gotten hurt. At the same time, she felt blessed that no one else had been seriously injured or killed.
Leaning her head against the cool passenger’s-side glass, Kisa told Eisani, “We need to separate.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, ’cause the package is going to be arriving in the next hour or so. Kennedy is already waiting to bust it down. I need you to move everything while I get with Mish. Oh yeah. Do Boogie and Shake still sell h?”
“Yeah, why?”
“’Cause there will be thirty ki’s in our package today. Let them know I’m letting them go for thirty-eight apiece. They have to get all of it, though, because h is too dangerous to sit on.”
