- ABOUT THE AUTHOR
“They’re kissing. They’re . . . oh!” Chase turned to Zeke, her eyes wide as that big harvest moon over his shoulder.
“That’s more than kissing. Damn.”
Chase threw a hand over her mouth and tried not to giggle so she wouldn’t alert the couple that was truly stumbling toward the door like two teenagers who couldn’t stop touching each other. That was Olivia totally grabbing Spencer’s ass. Olivia. Her therapist. She managed stifling her laughter and whispered, “I’m the best matchmaker in the whole world.”
Zeke started laughing softly. “Suddenly I feel better about meeting the Hammer.”
“I think it’s going to be tomorrow, though,” she said as Olivia started untucking Spencer’s shirt.
“I think you’re exactly right.”
When Olivia made her way to the kitchen for coffee, she said a prayer that both Chase and Neve had slept in. She’d slipped from her bed, careful not to make noise. Spencer had been snoring lightly, one muscled arm flung above his head, the mouth that had done wicked, wicked things to her slightly open. The sheet caught at his waist, and that beautiful torso framed against her white sheets made her swallow hard.
She’d just done that.
Oh God.
Grabbing a robe, she went in search of coffee and a moment to gather herself, her thoughts tripping over the shame, the censure, and, okay, the delight that she’d finally had really good sex.
But when she’d entered the kitchen, Neve and Chase were sitting at the bistro table, eating Cheerios and jointly staring at her iPad. Dang it.
They both looked up . . . and at that moment, Olivia knew they knew she’d slept with Spencer last night. Her mission to try like hell to stop touching him while climbing the stairs had failed. Oh, and she’d tried not to make too much noise once they’d reached her bed, but he was really good at the bedroom stuff, so she may have allowed an exclamatory orgasmic moan to escape a time or two.
Double dang it.
“Well,” Chase said, a twinkle in her eyes. “How did you sleep last night?”
Yeah, glee tinged those words.
Olivia tried to fight the full-body flush but knew that was impossible. So she went to the coffeepot, grabbed a mug from the mug holder, and poured a cup. As she lifted the coffee to her lips, the sacred aroma gave her temporary respite. Then she turned around to those two women watching her like cats about to play with a poor mouse. They both looked delighted.
Olivia leaned against the cabinet. “I slept good. You?”
“I slept fine,” Neve said, grinning as she took another sip of her own coffee.
“Well, I didn’t. I kept hearing noises all night. Noises that sounded very real and not fake,” Chase said, setting her spoon in her empty bowl.
