Sifton Tracey Anipare was born in Windsor to Ghanaian parents and raised in the Greater Toronto Area. An avid reader before she turned three, her favourite stories have always included fairy (and faerie) tales and paranormal accounts. After a self-independent study of Japan that she did in the fourth grade, she made it her life goal to go there at least once. While at university, she began to study Japanese independently and post-graduation applied to teach English in Japan, where she lived for four years. When she is not in the classroom or writing, Sifton will rewatch her favourite movies or play video games for hours on end. She turns to bubble tea, Japanese coffee mixes, and pumpkin spice to fuel her creative fires. She has no plans to stop collecting stickers or stamps, both of which are essential to her writing process, and hopes that stamp rallies and point cards will one day become mainstream worldwide. 夢 (Yume) is her first novel.
