Yoshino lingers in the living room as Andrew and Lieko argue in the washroom over the shower buttons, vaguely paying attention. She looks around at the remaining furniture, the walls stripped of their travel posters and farewell cards to Cybelle. They really gave her apartment a homey look when Yoshino was here for her farewell house party. Yoshino already misses her. It is hard not to think of the apartment as Cybelle’s home. Now, it is Andrew’s home. All signs of Cybelle ever existing in this part of the world are gone.

With one exception.

“Found you,” Yoshino says out loud. On the kotatsu — with the single reclining chair that Andrew will certainly have complaints about — held together with a rubber band, is a small collection of letters in envelopes. Stubs from Cybelle’s most recent bills and cancellations, to prove that they had been paid for. Yoshino chuckles, recalling the row Lieko and the former manager had with Cybelle about leaving bills for the “new teacher” to deal with. “It will not be a good impression if you leave Japan without paying. It will make things very difficult for new teacher,” Kinomoto-senpai had scolded her. And they all knew how important it was to make the new male teacher happy. A part of Yoshino wants to stay with Zozo. Just to see how much Lieko will kiss this Andrew guy’s butt. However, Zozo has no say in Yoshino’s future anymore.

“Hey,” she notices her own name on the front of an envelope. “What could you be?”

It is a letter written on Sentimental Circus stationery. It explains the contents of the other envelopes: utility bills, phone, and internet, her original plane ticket itinerary marked with the changes Cybelle requested for her new flight date. Lieko-Manager should know what they are, and Yoshino shouldn’t have to explain, but you never know. Yoshino definitely agrees there.

There is more:

Let me know how the new guy is! Judging by our emails he kinda sounds like a jerk, but who knows? Maybe he’s not the biggest prat in the world? ^____^ If he’s cool, we can take him out when I’m back in town! (If not, it’ll just be the three of us. Feel free to bring one of your American gentleman callers along, heh heh heh.)

Yoshino snickers. Then her eyebrows furrow. “Um, does anyone smell something?”

“What?!” Lieko storms out of the bathroom and starts opening and slamming the fridge and cupboard doors, angry that maybe Cybelle left something rotting. She flies into a brand-new rage when she finds the cupboards full of soy sauce, Costcosized ketchup, and other condiments. “Why am I not surprised?! Cybelle, saitei …”

“Relax, dude,” Andrew laughs at her. “I asked Cybelle not to throw these out. I told her I don’t want to run around all week trying to buy stuff. Man, she wasn’t kidding when she said you’d freak out.”
