  39. About the Author

Another growl scrapes out of him at the same time his lips come crashing down on mine. I catch his bottom lip with my teeth, and curl my hand around the back of his head. Anchoring him to me, because there’s no way in hell I’m letting him go this time without a fight. I’ll drag his ass right back here.

Waylon reaches for my shirt first. Twisting the hem up in his fingers, he drags the fabric up and over my chest until it’s pressed so tightly against my neck, I wonder if he’ll strangle me with it.

He bites down on my bottom lip, hard enough I taste copper. I tip my head back as he drags that wicked pierced tongue down my neck, and I imagine it leaving a trail of blood. I should be disturbed by the imagery, but I’m clearly drunk and horny to the point of insanity. A toxic combination if there ever was one—drunk off whiskey, drunk off his taste.

All I can think is more more more.

His teeth latch onto my chest, right above my nipple. Leaving little indents as he sucks my skin into his mouth, branding me.

I grapple at his shirt, tugging it over his head before tossing it away. I finish removing my own just as he swoops back in on my mouth.

His fingers clutch the sides of my head while I graze my nails up his spine, following the little knobs poking out. He shivers and I grin around his lip as I tug on it with my teeth.

We proceed to attack each other’s mouths, each other’s bodies, with a perverse, reckless sort of desperation that makes me wonder if we might actually hurt each other.

Hell, maybe that’s what we want.

Hearts are not known for their patience after all—they only ever just want what they want, when they want it, with no regard for the consequences.

And if the heart doesn’t get what it wants?

It becomes violent.

“I hate you.”

If this is hate, baby, I think, licking across his teeth, I don’t know if I’d survive your love.

I run my thumbs over his peaked nipples, rolling my left one roughly over his piercing, and I suddenly need to know what that thing feels like between my teeth.

Gripping him by the neck, I shove him away from my mouth, not letting go until he’s arched back for me. Until he has no choice but to fall on his ass as I chase him down to the hard floor.
