Breath bloomed and burst over my lips when he lowered his hind legs and sat down.
A long, tufted tail swished. A pink tongue darted out, revealing a quick flash of huge, dagger-sharp white teeth.
“Stars,” I exhaled. “You’re unlike anything I’ve seen before.” And that was the truth. Having grown up with one, I’d seen plenty of faerie wolves during my years, but not one of them came close to the one watching me with an intense glowing fixation.
Far larger than any fae beast I’d known, he had to be almost twice the size of the average wolf. The energy radiating from him like a crackling, threatening fire would make most run.
It only lured me closer.
I leaned close enough to brush my fingers over the velvet of his ears, slowly exploring the dense softness of the fur behind them and over his head. “A mane,” I whispered. “A crown of fur.” His nose nudged at my fingers when they retreated, and I laughed, tracing his giant muzzle in wonder.
Warm air rushed from his nostrils, followed by a pleased, rumbling growl.
A longing to kiss that snout took hold, although his head was twice the size of mine and his snout nearly as long as my forearm. My heart stopped as soon as my lips touched the fur above his nose.
And he melted beneath my hands.
Before I realized his intent, I was flat on my back upon the bed. Scythe loomed above me, pulling the tunic from my body. Buttons popped and the fabric tore with a quick scream.
There was nothing beneath, and though he’d likely already known that, it didn’t stop him from groaning and dragging his hands up my legs and over my thighs. He pushed them wide. His thumbs dragged down their insides, and my breath caught when they reached my center and opened me.
With a hunger in his eye, he leaned forward and blew a heated breath over my slick flesh.
I choked on a gasp, and he pushed his hands over my stomach to my breasts. He squeezed, then lowered to an elbow and circled my nipple with his thumb, his gaze fixed on mine. “You should know better than to kiss a wolf.”
“I’ve been doing a lot of things I normally don’t do,” I said without thinking.
Scythe narrowed his eye. “That so?” He watched my lashes flutter while his fingers slid over my stomach, circled and tickled their way back down to where I needed him. Mouth curving when my hips rose to meet his forefinger at my entrance, he said, “Like me?” He toyed and teased, watching as I struggled to form an answer.
I moaned, and he gave in, sliding his finger inside me with a growled, “Fuck, I’m obsessed with this perfect cunt. Kiss me.”
