I spent an egregious amount of time on research for this story. If you’ve created content about the history of social media and YouTube, about the inexplicable rise (and downfall) of public figures, the nature of celebrity, parasocial relationships, and any content about ARGs and transmedia storytelling, I’ve most likely consumed it. Almost all the writing that resulted from that work got cut in edits because that’s the way it goes. Anyway.
