Chapters (17)
“No, you will,” Xun Guan answered. “Any time someone enters your dungeon and makes it to your boss room, you’ll be notified of their presence with enough time to decide if you want to assume the role of the evil boss or not. Depending on the level, guild, or other factors of the party invading your dungeon, you may actually want to do that to make sure you do your best to protect your dungeon’s buffs and treasure horde.”
“Treasure horde?” Lucas asked. This was a lot of new information.
“90% of everything a player drops when a group dies automatically goes toward leveling up your Loot Level. The remaining 10% is converted into gold based on the value of the items and is transferred to your territory. Once you reach maximum Loot Level, you keep 100% of the items they drop until you die and need to increase your Loot Level again,” Xun Guan explained.
“So . . . if I kill enough groups, then I get to keep everything from the players I kill on top of that?” Lucas asked.
“Your territory gets the gold value of their drops if your avatar gets the kill, but that’s technically your money too,” she explained. But Lucas didn’t care about that. Items were important to him. Gold wasn’t. If a player dropped an amazing cloak or a great pair of boots, he wanted the item, not gold.
“Okay, so how do I start the avatar training?” Lucas asked. He warily glanced at the class trainer. The man was still chatting along about how Lucas was going to have to prove himself before he would ever be a real Enchanter, completely ignorant of the fact that Lucas was carrying on a second conversation and paying him absolutely no attention.
“Simple. Open up your Dungeon Menu.”
“Done.”
“Now, go to the Dungeon Map tab.”
“Kay.”
“Now select your throne room. Do this by double tapping any part of the throne room.”
“Got it.”
“Great. Now, on the side of the map, there is a button that should let you begin training your dungeon avatar.”
“Got it. It shows the dungeon is currently listed as not having an avatar and has a button with just the words “Level 1” on it. I take it that, if I click that, it’ll begin the trial? Or attempt?”
“Yeah, but be careful. Your avatar will be based on your skills and skill type, and each failed attempt to level up will be subtracted from the territory’s income. It’s designed to stop you from just easily spamming through the levels, but it’ll refresh back to the base cost at the end of the month.”
Okay, that’s not a problem. “Can I level up in the trial?” Lucas asked.
“Yeah, you can easily level in the challenge. Go ahead and give it a try,” she said.
