- About the Author
Megan and Brendon turned to the tall model in the Grecian shoes who was slipping out of the white dress.
“I’m glad you think so,” Megan said. “I’m passionate about my designs.”
“I can tell.” The model adjusted the strap on her bra and reached for a pale blue sweater. She appeared completely unselfconscious about standing in just her underwear.
Megan admired her body. She was tall and slim, not like Megan’s own shorter, curvier figure. But then she was a model, looking like that was her job.
“Have you got a shop?” the model asked, flicking her hair from the collar of the sweater.
“I’m making most of my sales online, but I have shelf space in a few high-street stores now. Hopefully more soon.”
“So if I want a pair of these”—the model held her foot up and nodded at the sandals—“where do I go to get them?”
“It’s all on her website.” Brendon flapped a Winter Shoes business card in the air. “All purchasing options are on there.”
The model took the card and reached for a short denim skirt.
“But you can keep that pair,” Megan said, “if they fit okay, which they look as if they do. I’m sorry, I had no idea what size feet the models would have today, I just grabbed what I had and hoped for the best.”
“Really?” The model widened her already wide eyes. “Are you sure?”
Brendon coughed, then muttered, “Oh my Lordy.”
Megan frowned at him then turned to the model. “Of course, just be sure to tell your friends they’re Winter Shoes and direct them to my site.”
“I will, thanks.” She pulled the skirt up, fastened the button and admired the long-strapped shoes again, which did look stunning on her slender, golden calves. “Really, I appreciate it, Megan, and I hope to see you again.”
“Oh you will,” Brendon said, wafting his hand in the air. “She’s an up-and-coming star this one, talented, beautiful and a natural in front of the camera. Only one place for her to go and that’s up, up, up.”
Megan felt heat rising on her cheeks. “Brendon…” She ducked her head.
“Well, if you’re not going to sing your praises, I will, because you are the designer, and I mean the designer to be watching. You mark my words…” He pointed at the model. “Winter Shoes are going to be replacing Wangs and Choos before you know it. Put your Louboutins in the bin, darling, and move those Blahniks, because there’s no space in your wardrobe for your blah, it’s all about the Winter glitter…”
Megan giggled. She hoped what Brendon was saying was true, but she suspected she had a way to go before she could challenge any of the greats he’d just mentioned.
