- About the Author

“Whoa, you don’t have to yell. I have enough with her fucking attitude. Look, you have to hop on a plane and help me fix this shit. Gary might have a great idea, but the guy is terrible at presenting. We can’t lose this account—you said so yourself.”
He’s right.
Our company is growing. I have the number one advertising company in Colorado, but we’re expanding and trying to be internationally recognized.
Then, why am I still in Cancun when there is so much work to do?
Claire.
I run a hand through my hair because I hate what I’m about to do. I promised nothing would change, and now I’m about to wake her up and drag her out of her vacation because my company needs her.
As I approach the room, I say, “Let me arrange a couple of things. Ask my assistant to book a private plane. If I’m lucky, I’ll be at the office tomorrow morning. Go to my apartment and get me a suit and a white button-down shirt.”
“Tie?”
“I have a couple at the office.”
I enter the room, and the moon illuminates Claire’s silhouette. She’s gorgeous. A dream I wasn’t expecting to wake up from this soon. For a second, I think about waking her and dragging her with me back home. It’s not fair though. We will handle the issue of Mr. Stewart with whatever Gary has. If anything, I can come up with something myself.
Silently, I pack all my stuff and write a note.
Sorry to leave, I had a work emergency. I’ll try to hurry and be back tomorrow night or Wednesday.
L…
Miller.
Fuck, did I almost write love? I need to pull my head out of Claire’s pussy and start thinking clearly. We have an account to save. Once I arrive at the airport, my plane is ready for takeoff. I email Devon asking for the drafts Gary sent him.
Gary is good, but not good enough. His stuff is a hit and miss. Sometimes he comes up with innovative things and others I wonder why we’re still employing him. When I receive the drafts, I’m pleased to see that we’re on a good track.
As I always say, if this guy applied himself, he could do great things. Once in a blue moon he delivers ideas I can get behind. Not sure why Claire always rages when I choose his work over hers. We have to talk about it during her next evaluation. I want her to succeed and become a good boss someday.
The Wi-Fi on the plane is strong enough to connect with Devon via Skype.
