Flustered but enjoying his flirtation, Tracey didn’t know how to respond, so she took a stab at humor. “I can’t give out invitations to someone else’s wedding, but I can get you a drink. What would you like?”

Amusement rose in Damon’s eyes. “I’ll have a whiskey, neat, please.”

“That sounds good to me,” Bones agreed. “I’ll have the same.”

“Okay. I’ll be right back with your drinks.” She turned to head up to the bar, and her eyes caught on Diesel’s brooding stare, sending those flutters into a full-on tsunami.

Why couldn’t her panties get in a twist for the charming, well-mannered doctor instead of the dirty-talking, rough-necked biker? Not that she cared about a man’s job, but come on.

She made a beeline for Moon and spent the rest of the evening trying to avoid Diesel’s stormy, all-too-appealing eyes. After closing for the night, she and Dixie cleaned up, and she went to get a trash bag from the storage room. When she came out, she plowed right into Dixie. “Sorry.”

“It’s okay. You’ve been all over the place tonight. I was just going to do that,” Dixie said.

“I’ve got it. Go home. I’ve got to wait for Diesel anyway.”

“Oh? You’re waiting for Diesel?”

Tracey rolled her eyes. “Not like that.” She went to gather the trash with Dixie on her heels.

“See you next week, ladies!” Moon waved from the other side of the room.

“Bye,” Tracey and Dixie said in unison.

“Spill, girl,” Dixie said as Tracey pushed through the ladies’ room door, following her in.

“It’s nothing. You know my car is in the shop. He insisted on driving me to work, so he’s driving me home.”

Dixie let out a little squeal. “I sense a little boom chick a wow wow.”

Tracey gave her a deadpan look. “You have lost your mind, woman. Diesel and I are oil and water, and he’s leaving town after the holidays.”

“Well, that makes him even more attractive. You haven’t been with a guy since you left Dennis. You need some practice.”

“I need practice flirting, too. Dr. Rhys—Damon—was flirting with me. At least I think he was, and I rambled like an idiot. How about you help me with that instead?”

“That man is hot. You definitely need to drink that tall glass of champagne, but he’s probably a slow lover, like all finesse and shit.” Dixie flipped her hair over her shoulder and leaned against the counter.

“You say that like it’s a bad thing.”

Dixie arched a brow. “Have you ever been taken against a wall in a fit of passion? Been eaten out in an elevator? Had sex in a meadow?”

“Um…?” She shook her head. Holy crap. “In an elevator? They have cameras, you know.”
