I want to stop second-guessing myself, but even though I haven’t called him, I know exactly what Darren would tell me. He’d say that I need to learn how to be more patient with myself. That I don’t have to rush this. I don’t have to be perfect at being bisexual — if that’s even a thing. He’d say all of that because Darren knows me better than anyone. And if there was a way to be perfectly bi, Darren knows I would figure it out or burn myself out trying.

But then Jourdan nods at the bartender and takes our two drinks, one in each hand, and turns toward me with a smile. It reminds me of the smile on her face when she was listening to Darren — when he was telling her whatever parameters he’d set for our date. My hands tighten around my phone, and my breath catches in my throat.

I smile back at her while my pulse quickens.

She places our drinks on the table and sinks down into the chair.

“He said I can’t touch you,” she breezes.

“What?” I splutter.

Her smile is gorgeous. “He said I can tease you any way I want, but I can’t touch you.”

It takes a few seconds for the words to register, and then I roll my eyes. “It’s payback,” I tell her.

Her eyelashes flutter, and she leans forward on the table the way she’d leaned across the bar. This time, I know she’s flirting, and I lean toward her. We’re not close enough to kiss, but if someone was watching us right now, they would know that this isn’t just two friends meeting up for drinks. This is a date.

“I like you two using me like this,” she whispers.

The way she says “using me” makes my sex clench, and then I gasp.

Jourdan has pushed my cold glass of sangria against my chest. The chill bleeds through my shirt and my bra.

“Do you talk about me?”

“Yes?”

“In bed?”

“Yes.”

“Does he play with you—”

“Yes,” I say, cutting her off and then moving around, trying to bring the glass closer to my nipples.

She smiles, recognizing what I’m doing. We both shiver when I make contact. “Have you ever been with a woman before, Nadia?”

I jerk away from the glass in shock even though I’ve been expecting this question. I shake my head in answer. If Darren were here, he’d have been shocked; I’m so rarely at a loss for words.
