They didn’t have to weave through the crowd. This was one of Daichi’s clubs—and, even if it wasn’t, the people swarming the common area would probably still part like the Red Sea just on instinct, just because they didn’t want to find out what happened if they didn’t. And then of course, there was Khun—Khun, who was once just a normal doctor who ducked and hid when someone more powerful than he looked his way, now parting the seas just like Daichi, now parting the seas even when Daichi wasn’t here. They reached the two men in no time at all.
“Excuse me.” Daichi stepped forward himself, held out his hand. “Yamashita Daichi. I’m the owner of this club.”
Liu Xingyu’s dongsaeng looked Daichi up and down, seemingly unimpressed—which was not something that Khun saw often. Daichi was the sort of person who impressed everyone. But perhaps someone like Liu Xingyu’s brother was used to looking at powerful and beautiful people every day. Now that he was closer, he really didn’t look like Liu Xingyu—he had a pretty little birthmark at the corner of his lips and another one below his eye, he was a little thinner in the face, and he didn’t look quite as contemptuous and haughty. Liu Xingyu had looked at Daichi and Khun like he had better places to be; Liu Xingyu’s dongsaeng just looked mildly interested and mildly irritated, probably since he was in the middle of a conversation with the other man. Khun looked that man up and down too—he was handsome, he supposed; not like Daichi or either of the Liu brothers, but handsome in a more accessible way, handsome like people sometimes described him. Good-looking, but nothing you’d look twice at—maybe even more striking than good-looking.
“Do you need something?” The man took Liu Xingyu’s dongsaeng by the arm and pushed him behind himself, like he was protecting him.
“Oh, I don’t need anything. I was just introducing myself.”
“I’m Khun Eryu.” Khun held out his hand too, and Liu Xingyu’s dongsaeng blinked at him without accepting, just like he had with Daichi. “Liu Xiao-Xiao, right?” He’d expected this to throw him off his game, but there was barely a reaction at all.
“It’s Liu Xiaokai. And who are you, the owner’s fuck-buddy?”
That surprised Khun. He laughed, and then Daichi snorted, and then Khun laughed harder. “Kind of,” he said. “More like husband. Can we entertain the two of you?”
The other man, who still had not let Liu Xiaokai step out from behind his protective wall, narrowed his eyes. “What is that supposed to mean?”
“Nothing nefarious. We have some private back rooms that are a lot quieter than out here. We’ll treat you to drinks and everything.” Khun gave Liu Xiaokai his friendliest smile. “I just want to chat for a bit.”
