Xingyu laughed. “I’m proud of him. He was such a shy kid, you know, and now look at him. So popular. Well…” He laughed again. “Not that he isn’t shy now. Somehow he got this title without ever leaving the office.”

“Do you think you’ll want to get it for yourself?”

“Oh, I don’t need that kind of attention. I’ll aim for something a little lower…city’s most charming bachelor or something.”

The host was obviously loving Xingyu. If she was sitting any closer to him, Weiran thought there was no question she would be touching his leg or his arm with all of this laughing she was doing. “I’m sure we’ll be able to figure something out for you.” And then she laughed again, and Xingyu laughed with her, and Weiran rolled his eyes. “Now, Liu Xiaokai. You’re the city’s most eligible bachelor, but no one knows about your dating life. We all want to know—what are your opinions on love and relationships?”

“Ah—love and relationships?” Xiaokai hummed and his gaze moved upward as he pretended to think. “I don’t put much time into thinking about it. It would distract me from my work, and I know I’m still young. I still have plenty of time to find someone special and settle down.”

“Oh, so you do want to settle down eventually!”

“Of course. I don’t plan on staying alone forever.”

“Can you tell us a little about your ideal date? Maybe your ideal woman?”

“Ideal date…mm…candlelight dinner and a walk by the water to stargaze?”

Mentally, Weiran wrote that down. Treat Xiaokai to a candlelight dinner, take him for a walk by the water to stargaze.

“That’s so romantic.” The host wasn’t as charmed by Xiaokai as she was by Xingyu, but she did seem to like him quite a bit, and as he talked about this date she gave a dreamy kind of sigh. “What about your ideal woman?”

The quarter-smile on Xiaokai’s face slowly grew into a half-smile. “I’m not picky, but I think I’d like that person to have a beautiful smile. As long as they have a beautiful smile, I think I’d be able to accomplish anything for them.”

Weiran touched his mouth.

“I can definitely see why you’re the most eligible bachelor, Mr. Liu.”

The smile got smaller again, no longer amused by her earlier question. “Thank you. That’s very kind of you.”
