  30. About the Author

He jammed his thumb between her lips, hooking it behind her bottom teeth, and pulled, forcing her jaw open. She felt obscene, standing there with her mouth open, his erection digging into her belly and her own arousal dripping down her thighs. “That’s it,” he said with a chuckle, and she flinched even as her pussy gushed. “Hold still, now.”

He lowered his head and licked into her mouth.

It was the most obscene kiss of her life. His thumb kept her mouth open as he swirled his tongue between her lips, skimming her teeth, the insides of her cheeks. He lapped at her like a puppy, almost playfully, but there was nothing innocent about it.

She kept her tongue still and her body pliant, not fighting him but not participating either, and after a moment he lifted his head to smirk at her.

“You got your kiss,” she began, but he was still holding her mouth open, and the words were garbled and unintelligible.

His smirk deepened, but he released his hold on her chin. “Sorry, what was that?”

She flexed her jaw carefully, wincing at the ache. “You got your kiss,” she repeated, and lifted her chin in a show of bravado. “You can go now.”

“You think that was a kiss?” He shook his head, tsking softly. He tightened his hand in her hair, jerking her head back so hard and fast that she cried out. “It doesn’t count if you don’t kiss me back.”

“You didn’t say that,” she said, her vision blurring as tears stung her eyes. Her scalp was burning, and fear swamped her mind. “You just said you wanted a kiss.”

“And you haven’t given me one yet.” He used his grip on her hair to jerk her head forward so they were once again face to face, his other hand coming up to circle her throat. “Come on, baby. Show me what that mouth can do.”

She was braced for violence, so the gentleness with which he pressed his lips to hers was almost a shock. She met his questing tongue with her own, tentative at first, then more boldly. He tasted like the tiramisu he’d had at the restaurant, and under it like Cade, familiar and welcome.

But her scalp still stung from his grip on her hair, and his hand was heavy on her throat. So she pulled her mouth away, twisting her face to the side, and panted, “There, you got your kiss. Now get the hell out of here.”

He chuckled low in her ear. “That’s not really what you want, is it?”

She trembled against him, fear rising again as she strained against his grip. “Yes. I want you to leave.”

“Hmm.” He skimmed his lips over the delicate shell of her ear, then down the side of her neck. “I don’t think you do.”
