The parking lot was the after party and the real reason why people showed up to the hole-in-the-wall at all. Inside the club, it was too dark to truly size up the opposition. Under the shining street lights was where the real from the fake was discerned. Diamonds and rims, foreigns and Chevys, it was all on full display, as partiers hung out on the hoods of cars, still pouring, still sipping, still enjoying the high of the night. This was Flint, this was the life; a Saturday night on the strip of Clio Road, and she was headed to the car of a big fish - Lucas. He wasn’t as major as Messiah, but he was getting money and was a respectable catch. While she was jealous of the girl on Messiah’s arm, there were plenty of women envying her, as she climbed into the passenger side of Lucas’ black Cadillac Escalade.

Messiah got on his Kawasaki Ninja. The Yves St. Laurent motorcycle jacket he wore made him look like he was a model, instead of an actual rider. He handed the girl he was with a helmet, as he pushed his own down over his head. Isa mounted the bike next to Messiah’s, as the rest of their crew prepared to ride behind them. They weren’t a gang, but it was rare that you caught Messiah without his shooters.

“You not gon’ put a stop to that?” Isa asked, as he nodded towards the Escalade.

“She choosing. Ain’t my business,” Messiah said, arrogantly, as he revved his engine, loudly, while the random girl wrapped her arms around his waist. He sped out of the parking lot, starting a chain reaction, as Isa and the rest of their team whipped out behind him.

The fun ended for Morgan when she saw Messiah leave. Suddenly, her interest in leaving with Lucas waned. Messiah had brought her down; and suddenly, she felt the urge to go home and cry face down in a pillow. He was always around, always moving and shaking in the same places she liked to frequent. It was torture being around what she knew she couldn’t have. Now that he was no longer paying attention, she wished she had gone home instead. She turned to the backseat where Nish was cozied up with one of Lucas’ friends.
