Jay took control of the crowd. A podium and microphone had been set up in the center aisle for people to access. The first question came from a woman in her midthirties with a rainbow stripe dyed in her long brown hair. She wore a flashy pride shirt and clung to a copy of Secret Lives, hugging it to her chest.
“Hi. It’s so amazing to meet you guys. My question is, what do your parents think about you portraying twins in a sexual relationship?”
Asher snorted and smirked in my direction. “All yours.”
“Ha!” I blurted into the microphone. “Well, let’s see. How about if they ever find out what we’ve done, we’ll let you know how they react?”
She laughed and was encouraged to step down for the next person in line to come forward.
“Are you two close in real life? Do you spend a lot of time together?” asked a petite redhead with freckles everywhere.
Asher took that question. “We were always really close growing up. We did everything together. As adults, we hang out as often as possible. Our school schedules keep us busy, but we make time to get together. We get along well. Always have.”
A younger man about our age was next. His cheeks tinted red before he blurted, “Are either of you single, and if yes, do you have dinner plans?”
The audience roared, making the poor guy’s face flame brighter.
“We’re both in a committed relationship,” I said as Asher kissed my cheek. Dude, timing. The young guy’s eyes flicked between us, and I panicked. “Not with each other,” I blurted. “That would be weird. We’re in relationships with other people who aren’t each other. From school. They’re other people from school. And we’re dating them.” Asher pinched my arm, and I cleared my throat, pulling my shit together. “But thank you for the sweet offer, and I love your sweater vest. I have one similar at home. Next.”
The questions came one after another. What do our significant others think about our sexy performances with each other? What are our future plans in modeling? How like Ender and Elliot are we? Who’s smarter? Who’s stronger? Did we take any enjoyment in posing for those pictures? What are our views on twincest as a genre? And could they please, please, please have another demonstration.
Jay cut them off after our allotted time.
“We’re going to move this into the room next door,” Jay explained. “You can join the line to participate in a short meet and greet and take pictures, and we’ll start in about fifteen minutes.”
