Someone in the audience yelled, “They have more clothes on then we’re used to seeing.”
“Too many clothes on?” Jay said. “Yes, I tend to agree. We’re used to seeing them half-dressed, aren’t we?”
“Half?” Asher whispered by my ear. “The last two shots we did were in the nude.”
“Right?”
“So you may know these two faces as Ender and Elliot Bridgestone from Secret Lives, but their real names are Atticus and Asher Charming, and folks, I didn’t make that up. They are the Charming twins, and they are indeed, quite charming in real life too. Believe me.”
The audience laughed.
“Do you guys want to tell us a little about yourselves before we turn the floor over to them?” Jay asked, turning to Asher and me.
Asher squeezed my hand and put a bit of space between us.
“Sure,” I said into the microphone at the podium. “So, yeah, hi.” I waved. “I’m Atticus, aka, Elliot, and this is my twin brother, Asher. Um… We live in Southern Ontario, Canada, and…”
“We’re both university students,” Asher added when I paused, leaning against me to steal the microphone.
I shoved him with my shoulder and spoke. “I’m studying computer engineering and—”
Asher shoved me back, playfully. “And I’m taking business finance.”
The crowd got a kick out of our little battle over the spotlight.
“As you can see,” I said, bumping Asher again.
“We’re identical twins,” Asher finished.
“Thank you,” we both said together, which earned us a big laugh.
“And they’re really like this,” Jay added, stepping forward. “I’ve had the privilege of working beside them for the past few months, and they’re a lot of fun and adorable on top of all that. “Before I open the floor, I have a few general questions to get us started, and that might help push some curiosity out of the way. Can you tell me, are you guys alike or different personality-wise?”
Asher, feeling braver, leaned over me to answer. “Definitely different. I’m a gym nut, and Atti is a computer nerd. Hence the bulk difference.” He swung a finger between us.
“Hey now, I went to the gym with you a few weeks ago.”
“And cried for the entire night after using a stationary bike on—what did you call it?—easy mode.”
“It was really painful. I had noodle legs, and he wouldn’t carry me home,” I told the audience. I pushed Asher away from the microphone and continued. “But we’re alike in a lot of ways too. We love the same music, and we both wanted to be rock stars growing up. We can’t hold a tune, but we can belt out the lyrics to just about any nineties grunge rock song out there.”
“True,” Asher added. “And I play a wicked air guitar.”
“And we love the same food.”
“Thai and pizza,” we said together.
