“How about this here?” A young guy said, bringing up a different clip. “It’s tasteful and gives the same impression as the other one. If we cut to this one, then the angle is just different enough to tease.”

It was hilarious how they were arguing about a clip that would be no more than a five-second flash in the whole trailer. There was tons of material that had been filmed that led up to us in bed. All of it with clothes on. The bed stuff was going to be shown near the end in a burst of teasing action between us. Nothing more. A small taste of sexiness for the viewers.

Lewis watched the new clip, the end of his pen taking a beating from his molars as he nodded along. “It’s good. Yes, yes, I can see it.”

“You two doing okay? Can I get you anything?” Asher and I whipped our heads around to find Charlotte hovering nearby. “They’ll probably be a while deciding if we have enough material. Are you hungry?”

Asher and I exchanged a glance. “Yeah, we could eat,” I said for both of us.

Charlotte glanced around. “Jay,” she called across the room. “Can you put in a takeout order?” Turning back to us, she asked, “What would you like? Any special requests?”

“Sandwiches from the deli?” Asher suggested, eyeing me. “They were amazing last time.”

“Yes! And soup. I need soup.” I rubbed my stomach and gave Charlotte a cheeky smile.

Jay joined us, and Charlotte waved a hand for us to relay our orders.

“Rueben for me, pickles on the side, and a Coke,” Asher said.

“Turkey club on whole wheat, but can I also get the asparagus soup? It was amazing. Oh, and a Coke. No mustard on the sandwich. Light on the tomatoes.” Asher elbowed my gut. “What? I’m picky. I can’t help it.”

“It’s no problem,” Jay said. “I’ll run out and grab it. It saves time. Their delivery was annoyingly slow when we ordered from there last month.”

He wandered off, tugging his phone from his pocket as he went. He hadn’t said anything about our arrangement, but I knew we had to outline our rules before he left to go home. They were simple enough, and I didn’t think he’d disagree.

“How did you two think it went today? That was an intense scene to film at the end. I’m sure you were uncomfortable. It looked realistic if that helps. Could have fooled me. You guys have come a long way from the first time we met.”

Asher cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck, his cheeks flushing. I smiled, elbowing him. “Yeah. Well, it took us some time to get into a mindset, you know? It’s just acting. No big deal. We got over it.”

“I’m glad. Oh, hang on. I have something for you both.”
