Benjamin closed his eyes, trying to think as she wiggled beside him, touching him from shoulder to knee. Then she rose slightly and kissed him. Not a good-morning kiss but a lingering, passionate kiss. Her warm breast brushed over his bare chest as she continued nibbling at him as if just discovering something she craved.
He was lost again. His last sane thought was that he was hers. Whatever she silently asked him for, he would give her. The feel of her was addictive.
She knew it, too, because she laughed just before she ran her fingers into his hair and pulled him to her.
An hour later when he woke again, she was gone, and for a moment the loss of her felt like a blow.
Then he saw the light on in the bathroom. Dawn was now shining brightly. He relaxed back amid a mountain of pillows. Reality and memories blended in his thoughts.
She walked out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel and smiled down at him. “I’m not touching you, Benjamin, or we’ll never get out of here, and we both have work to do.” As she issued her order, he noticed she let the towel slip to expose one of her breasts.
Scrubbing his face, he asked, “Mind if I use your shower?”
“No, I don’t mind, as long as I can watch.”
“You may not watch.” He grabbed a pillow and covered himself as he rushed around her. “Don’t even think about it.”
Jenny laughed. “Of course, Benjamin.”
Now she calls me Benjamin, he thought. Who would have guessed that all he had to do was sleep with her for Jenny to get his name right.
Ten minutes later when he’d showered and shaved with a funny razor he’d found in the soap dish, he stood stone still as he faced himself in the mirror over a tiny sink. What would he say to her? Should he tell her it was just as good mating with her last night as it had been twenty years ago? Maybe he should establish a few ground rules for the next time. If there was a next time. What if there was? What if there wasn’t?
He stared at the man in the mirror and decided they were both insane.
Benjamin took his time combing his hair, and brushed his teeth with a travel toothbrush that had been left on the counter.
When he came out of the bathroom, his clothes were on the bed. The trousers were black and a bit wrinkled, but it looked like she’d ironed the shirt.
