He took her hand and tugged her toward the bedroom. “We’ll talk about building a house tomorrow. I’ve been thinking I may not have time for making wine. We can use the land I planned to have a little vineyard on to build a house on. That way my dad can walk over and tell us how to raise his grandkids.”
“Kids?”
“Why not?”
As he unbuttoned her clothes, he talked about how they could organize their schedules so they wouldn’t have to worry about a sitter. Then he worried about his dad buying the kid a horse. That is, if his dad ever again returned his calls.
Ben grinned. Maybe his folks were making up for lost years. By the time they came up for air the kid would be calling them Grandpa and Grandma.
Jenny finally stopped his thinking when she stood naked in front of him. Her fists were planted on her nicely rounded hips and she looked so beautiful.
“Benjamin, you have a great many habits that will drive me crazy before we lie beside one another in the ground. I have no doubt we’ll fight about them all, so we might think about numbering them. But, you should know right now, from the beginning, not one thing you do is ever going to make me stop loving you.”
She tugged off his shirt as he dropped his pants. “But with all your faults you’ve got one grand gift. You do a great, complete, perfect job of loving me.”
Ben got the point. He climbed into bed with Jenny and didn’t say a word as he showed her just how much he loved her.
When he was sure she was asleep, Ben slid his hand over her middle and smiled.
Chapter 39 - Ketch
Chapter 39
Ketch
Ketch helped Tuesday get her house back in order after everyone left. “Thanks for doing this. If this group had met anywhere in town we wouldn’t have been able to talk freely.”
“I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Millie is shy like me, but we talked. She even offered me a job at the library if I wanted it. She said I could work my classes around my hours.”
“Sounds great,” Ketch said as he thought about how he’d not be there to help her if she kept the bar job. He was graduating. He was leaving soon. The library would be safer for her.
“I think I’d like to work in the library. You and I could maybe meet at the coffee shop for lunch.”
