“Right. Right,” Bull answered.
“These friends of yours may have simply been talking, but we have to be prepared. This is dangerous, men. If you see anything that’s not in place, call in. Don’t do anything. Your life is on the line.” Ketch was laying it on thick.
Wynn looked afraid, but his brother was full into playing the undercover agent.
“I’ll even watch the nurses. A few are so homely they might be in disguise.” Bull leaned closer. “And I’ll keep one eye on the groundskeepers. One came in the hospital and tracked mud all over the lobby. After the janitor cussed him out, the guy probably hates us all.”
Ketch shook hands with the Wills brothers. He had no idea if he had even a hint of a suspect, but he did have a few places to check out.
On the way home the guy tracking in mud kept playing through his mind.
Ketch got back to Primrose Hill in time to help Tuesday do the dishes. By the time the professors arrived, all was clean and ready.
Professor Clark made a big deal of loving the house. She had a sunshine way of making everyone feel good, and Tuesday fell under her spell.
When Hank and the librarian arrived with a little boy in tow, everyone went out of their way to make the kid feel a part of the gang.
Pecos and the sheriff showed up without spouses. LeRoy explained that tonight was his wife’s Bunco night, and she never missed. Pecos just said the baby was fussy and no one asked more.
When they sat down to dinner, everyone bragged so much about the meal and the presentation that Tuesday blushed.
They all seemed to be struggling not to talk about work, but when Ketch suggested the squad step into the study, all chairs scraped back. To Ketch’s surprise, all but Simon moved toward the study.
Simon asked if he could play on Millie’s phone while they talked.
She handed him her phone and smiled. “When I get back will you teach me?”
“I will, pretty lady,” the little boy answered.

Chapter 35
Ketch
Ketch began with his theory that the bomber was not one man, but a gang, and they’d been practicing for a big event. With the governor coming to present the Horace Mann Award tomorrow, that might be the chance they were waiting for to make a big bang.
“If I’m right, the men involved were all kicked out of the college. I don’t think they are trying to kill anyone, just make the college less attractive to anyone coming. They want to hurt the college, and what better way to get publicity than blow something up while the governor is near.”
