As soon as I walked into the room all eyes came to me.

Seriously, what the fuck?

Thankfully, Wilson didn’t make me wait.

“To say Marco Kelly is pissed that his son is involved in trafficking would be an understatement. To say he’s fucking furious his son brought it to his beloved club would be a serious fucking understatement. Of those two things, I reckon Marco’s more pissed that his squeaky-clean club has been under investigation and why. Marco has secondary security systems in all his clubs. Only he and his lawyer have access to them. During our meeting, he called his lawyer and asked him to review the footage of the day the guy on horseback saw the girl running naked on the property.” Wilson paused and inhaled deeply. “Her name was Michelle Kendrick. She was found dead in Palmdale two days after she was at the mansion.”

“Fuck!” I yanked out an empty chair between Jack and Cole and sat.

“There was some back and forth between Marco and his lawyer. But as I said, Marco’s more worried about his clubs than he is about his son. Part of this is because Lorenzo’s been a pain in Marco’s ass for years. Lorenzo’s supposed to be in California on a time-out from running Marco’s other business ventures into the ground. In an effort to save Club Joi’s reputation and keep the police from further investigating the club, he agreed to help. All of the mansion’s security footage has been turned over to the Marshal Service.”

Fucking, fucking hell.

“Inside and out?” I tightly inquired.

I didn’t need to ask more than that. Wilson knew what I was asking.

“Common areas only and last night Shep got into Lorenzo’s computer and downloaded all the footage from the cameras he set up and wiped his machine. For the time being, I’ve asked Shep to hold on to the footage in case we need it but I didn’t turn it over to the Marshals.”

“Where’s Lorenzo?” Rhode asked.

“Incarcerated.”

“What about Will Evans?”

Wilson’s angry gaze swung my way, and I knew I wasn’t going to like his answer.

“In the wind. So far, nothing puts him at the club while Michelle was there.”

Fucking shit. We’d lost that lead.

“Something else,” Wilson started but stopped and stared at Cole for a moment before he came back to me and closed his eyes.

Fuck.

“He knows Sloane overheard his conversation,” I guessed and stood.

I had to get to Sloane and get her someplace where neither of us could be traced.

Fucking shit.

Cole followed me up and his hand went to my shoulder. I shrugged it off but Cole stepped in front of me.

“Move.”

“I will,” he said. “We will. We move as a team, and we don’t have all the intel. Calm down and wait.”

“It’s not Will, Asher,” Wilson announced. I felt my chest loosen right before Wilson dropped the bomb. “I’m sorry, brother, there’s no easy way to tell you this. Elise’s body has been found.”
