- ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I stepped in and started helping size the boys to the gowns. Just as we had found something for nearly everyone, another intercom buzz caused Austin to pull up the app on his phone. We had Tinsley and Parker, Axel, and a host of other people now.
The hugging and laughing evolved naturally. Austin and I went from wondering how to handle this to being supported by every damn person we’d ever met and then some.
Social media had picked up on Everyone’s a Damn Bride Day, and the hashtag was trending. Leave it to Teddi to organize something this massive in a matter of hours.
“You better get dressed if you guys are coming.” Somehow Teddi had found time to wrangle herself into a huge princess-style gown. “Mom and Dad are coming. I have to meet them downstairs.”
Austin snagged my hand and pulled me into our room. “Do you want to do this?”
His sexy eyes searched mine.
“Yeah? I think so? It seems like the best way to ever make a stand. I mean, it’s sudden, but cool.” I felt my smile get wider.
“Okay. Let me think then, because if we’re going? We have to be the best dressed.” He leaned forward and gave me a lingering kiss.
When he pulled back, I reminded him, “Teddi still thinks this is all an act, so be careful. You can start my motor, if you know what I mean.” I shook my shoulders for him.
He laughed and covered my breasts for a few seconds before letting them go. Austin disappeared into his huge closet, and when I followed him in, he had a small step ladder set up. The topmost box was his goal, and when he went on his tiptoes, he knocked it toward him.
The box flopped off the shelf and spilled out. I was covered in tulle. I parted the gauzy fabric and Austin helped me untangle myself from it.
“That’ll be the bottom.”
I started to try to make sense of the yards, folding them like an endless accordion.
The next set of boxes had white tuxedos inside.
He held out his hand and I stepped onto the low coffee table he had in the closet. The way he looked at my body now was different from how he had not even twelve hours earlier. It reminded me of the demeanor he had when we did our photo shoot.
He worked with the material he had, draping it around me. “Okay, this will work. Are you comfortable ditching your jeans?”
When I nodded in agreement, his devilish smile came out. He did the honors, unfastening them and sliding them down my legs.
He paused to linger a kiss on my thigh. “Beautiful.”
