LAMB: Whoa, they’re not clowns.
HAMILTON: Of course, I only meant …
LAMB: What?
HAMILTON: Watching people hurt each other just isn’t my idea of a good time.
LAMB: They’re not people, they’re athletes!
You sound like Carol. She’s watched it once or twice and hates it. Says they all look like convicts. With the tats and stuff?
HAMILTON: Right.
Suddenly, Josef coughs violently and puts his head between his legs.
LAMB: Aw shit.
Lamb goes to Josef.
LAMB: What’s wrong, buddy?
JOSEF: Pomači mi da odiđem vodavde.[12]
HAMILTON: I think he’s feeling sick or something.
LAMB: Thanks, Captain Obvious. (to Josef) Okay there?
JOSEF: Rači njimu da bertam vu bolnaku.[13]
LAMB: Right.
Lamb helps Josef back into an upright position.
Josef nods that he’s okay, then turns to Lamb and mimes drinking.
JOSEF: Predaj varu, mila makico. Varu?[14]
LAMB: I don’t think any more coffee’s a good idea.
HAMILTON: Maybe he wants water.
LAMB: Oh yeah. That makes more sense.
Lamb goes out to get water. When the door closes, Josef grabs Hamilton’s arm.
JOSEF: Pomači mi da odiđem vodavde![15]
Hamilton pulls his arm free.
HAMILTON: What the hell is wrong with you?
JOSEF: Ne znomam šta se dečova, okay? Mustam biti nevodje –[16]
HAMILTON: I don’t know who you think I am, and I have no idea who you are, okay? Do you get it?
JOSEF: Tanko moštrije od žuta dajinog rani, tanda nezahvolno jemamo dejče.[17]
HAMILTON: I don’t speak Lavinian!
JOSEF: Ja som ti tažio jidžek, Marko.[18]
Hamilton glares at Josef.
HAMILTON: If – if – you are who you say you are, you’d be dead.
JOSEF: Vravaj mi, ne razmozgijem ničo malje nago ti … Ali ja som, Marko. Tati je.[19]
Hamilton removes the Santa hat from Josef’s head.
JOSEF: Da.[20]
The door opens and Lamb returns with a bottle of water. Hamilton steps away from Josef.
LAMB: Here you go, buddy.
Lamb hands Josef the water bottle.
JOSEF: Vola.[21]
Josef drinks. Lamb notices the Santa hat in Hamilton’s hand.
HAMILTON: I took it off. It was undignified.
Lamb gives Hamilton a look.
Josef groans and holds his side.
LAMB: (to Josef) You better? Okay?
HAMILTON: Should he see a doctor, maybe?
LAMB: Well, as I said, I’m just waiting for the translator.
HAMILTON: He looks like he’s in pain.
JOSEF: Bolnaka, bolnaka![22]
LAMB: Okay, bolnaka, bolnaka! What is it?
JOSEF: (makes a siren sound) Bolnaka!
HAMILTON: An ambulance?
LAMB: Jesus.
Josef moans.
HAMILTON: The East General is five minutes away.
LAMB: I can give him some aspirin. But I can’t just let him go.
HAMILTON: Inspector, look at him!
LAMB: I get it, I get it … Give me a second, there’s protocol that needs to be followed …
HAMILTON: Is he under arrest?
LAMB: Well, no, I mean unless he’s turning himself in …
HAMILTON: Why would you think that?
