“I have some good news for you girls!” Mr. Han says, leaning forward on his glass office desk. “The viewers absolutely love you two on 1, 2, 3, Win. Apparently, the night the episode aired, the hashtag #TeamKimSisters was trending all over the place.” I grin at Leah, remembering how MC Yang said the pair of us could be our own little two-woman team. “The network is wondering if you two would be interested in your own reality show,” Mr. Han continues. “I don’t have too many details yet, but it would be a classic reality TV series with a camera following you around as you live your everyday life and do various activities together. What do you think?”
My mouth drops open. Well, that was totally unexpected. Me and Leah? On a reality show together? Um, yes please!
Leah squeals, obviously just as excited. “Are you serious? Oh my god! You’re serious? This is real!” she exclaims, then slides down in her chair, clearly embarrassed by her outburst. She’s always so confident around me that sometimes I forget she’s barely out of her trainee years and still nervous around the execs.
“That would be an incredible opportunity,” I say, stepping in to help Leah out. “We’re so pleased you’ve thought of us.”
“Mr. Noh has always wanted to make a duo album with you two,” Mr. Han continues. “A sisters album! The timing is perfect. And the reality show will help build momentum for an album release for you. What do you say?”
You know how sometimes if you’re crying and someone tickles you, you burst out laughing uncontrollably, because your body has collapsed all of its emotions into one? Yeah, that’s exactly how I feel right now.
Leah and I look at each other again and this time, we both squeal.
He laughs. “I take that to mean yes?”
“Yes!” Leah says.
“Of course,” I add, crossing my legs as if I’m taking this business opportunity very seriously and not tempted to start jumping up and down on my chair.
“Excellent. I’ll keep you ladies updated,” Mr. Han says. “Mr. Noh will be very excited when I tell him.”
“Thank you, Mr. Han,” we both say, bowing.
As we rise to leave, I hesitate. I’ve been wanting to ask Mr. Han about something since we got back from Singapore but haven’t had the chance. This may be as good a time as any. Plus, it’s easier to broach the subject with the laidback and approachable Mr. Han than it would be with Mr. Noh.
“Mr. Han, I was wondering if everything is okay with the Reveal article about my groupmates?” I ask. “Has it all blown over?”
Mr. Han leans back in his desk chair. “Oh yes. Thankfully, it has. The media’s turned their attention over to Jason Lee’s new movie, When I Loved You, as I’m sure you’ve noticed.”
