Later that evening, with Chance lying on the bed with his mom and Camden on her chest, I stand next to the bed and look at my family in awe.

“You okay, big guy?” she asks reaching up to rest her hand on my cheek and my throat gets tight.

“Oh yeah.” I reach over to touch the top of Chance’s head and then rest my hand on Camden's bottom. “Love you.”

“More,” she whispers. I’m sure she thinks that’s a possibility, but she has absolutely no idea how much I love her and the family she and I have created.

Franny and Dayton’s book might be one of my favorites in this series. I loved being able to see them go from friends to more and how they always took care of each other.

There are a few side characters in this series who totally deserve their own happily ever afters and so I’m not sure that this series will end with Dayton’s book or if this is just a quiet goodbye until next time.

I’m going to be sick.

Holding my balled-up hand against my stomach, I read the text that just popped up on Bowie’s computer again and try to convince myself that I’m misunderstanding what I’m looking at.

It doesn’t work. No matter how many times I reread the message, it still says the same thing.

What time do you think you’ll be here? Tucker is working late, so we don’t need to worry about him.

The simple question seems innocent enough, but the photo attached to the message of a beautiful woman with dark hair who’s wearing a red lace nightie proves I haven’t made the wrong assumption.
