Between Eisani, Arnessa, TaTa, and a few of Butta’s customers, Kisa smashed those twenty-five kilos in less than forty-eight hours. A few days later she was right back at Alexandria’s to re-up for thirty more kilos, and Kennedy was right there to stretch them out. From that point it was business as usual, and much like Kennedy, Kisa hadn’t lost her touch either. Kisa was back in the driver’s seat controlling the wheel, and it felt good. She adored the power. Chasing cash was an extreme rush for Kisa, and adrenaline pumped through her more rapidly with every dollar that she made.

It had been nearly two weeks since Arnessa watched Butta’s medical flight take off, carrying him to Charlotte, North Carolina. She was heartbroken about being away from him, but she knew Lena was with him, so she took comfort in that.

Arnessa was finding it hard to maintain in the face of so many adversities. She was still trying to come to terms with her baby sister going to prison. She was hustling again, and on a level much higher than she had been before. And there was Suef, of course, who was probably still gunning for her. Everything was draining all of her energy and taking over her mental capacity.

Just when Arnessa was at her breaking point, she got a call from Lena informing her that the doctors would soon be ready to bring Butta out of his medically induced coma. The following day, Arnessa called US Airways to purchase tickets for the next plane to Charlotte for Cenise and herself. If possible, she wanted to be there when Butta opened his eyes.

Cenise had been acting so secretive and sneaky for the past two weeks that there was no way Arnessa could leave her behind. Even though Cenise would’ve been at the apartment with Kisa and Eisani, Arnessa knew that there was too much going on for them to keep a watchful eye over her.

Arnessa was packing her things in preparation for the trip when she realized the diamond bracelet Butta had given her was missing from her wrist. She searched the room where she slept, to no avail. When she didn’t find it there, she headed for Cenise’s room.

Arnessa was about to call Cenise’s name as she approached her sister’s door, but stood back and listened when she heard Cenise talking on the phone.

“If my sister knew I was still talking to you, she’d break my neck,” Arnessa heard Cenise say. “I can’t keep meeting up with you.”

I know she not talking to that nigga. Arnessa wanted to bust into the room and yank the phone, but she played it cool and continued to listen.
