Kisa tried to hold it in, knowing that it wasn’t the time to be arguing over what some broad had said. Although she could hold her own better than most dudes, she was still a female with emotions and sensitive feelings, especially when it came to her husband. “You’ll figure it out when you come back and I’m done with you.”

“What?” Sincere barked. “What the fuck are you buggin’ about now?”

“I’m buggin’ about you! Like why the fuck you still can’t keep ya dick in your pants?”

“I’m on the run. I’m not fucking nobody! What the hell is wrong with you?”

“You might not be doing nothing right now, but you was fucking Nichelle. She told me all about you, her, and Butta’s little sex parties.”

“I know you bugged out now. I ain’t never in my life touched Nichelle. I’m hanging up, yo, ’cause you sounding real stupid right now.”

“You bet not hang up on me—”

“How dare you come to me with that dumb shit when I’m on the run for my life?” Sincere said, cutting Kisa off. “I don’t care nothing about what some grimy, money-grubbing bitch said to you. Hoes been coming at you. You should be used to it by now. If you not, then man the fuck up, ’cause I don’t have the time or patience for no dumb shit right now.” He slammed the phone closed, then opened it and cut it off.

Sincere looked at his phone. He contemplated calling her back to smooth the situation out because he understood the immeasurable amount of pressure that she was under. At the same time, he was under more pressure than she was. It was Sincere who was facing possible life in prison for a murder that he didn’t commit. His thoughts were, Fuck her. I’m not catering to that petty shit tonight.

“Who was you screaming on?” Shawn asked, shutting the door to his bedroom, where he’d been laid up with a chick he’d met the day before.

“Kane.” Sincere sighed, shaking his head. “She bugging out ’cause Nichelle said that we was having sex.”

“You and Nichelle?” Shawn questioned, his face twisted.

“Yeah, man … and Kane listening to her like a dumb ass.”

“Did you tell her it was a lie?”

“Of course I did. Then I let her have it for even coming at me like that.”

“Did she believe you?”

“I don’t know … I hung up on her. Man, right now, I don’t care what she believes.”

“Hello? Hello?” I know he didn’t hang up. Kisa pressed the send button twice to redial his number. Instead of Sincere’s voice, she got his voice mail. After the beep Kisa went bananas, letting all her pent-up frustrations go.
