Kisa was worn down emotionally. The only thing that could help her get through this difficult period was the love and friendship of her husband. She decided to put her problems on hold. “I love you so much, Sincere, and no matter what happens, that will never change. Those issues that I would like to air out can wait. Going to bury Shawn tomorrow, I know, is hard enough for you. I don’t want to bring you down with all this heavy stuff tonight. I just want to be here for you.”
“You’re always here for me. You always put everybody you love first. So whatever issues you want to air out, we can talk about them right now.”
“I just want us to enjoy each other’s company.” She smiled. “Something we haven’t done in a long time.”
Sincere kissed her passionately, “I love you, wife.”
“I love you, husband.”
“Go ahead and get in the shower.” He smacked Kisa on the ass. “I’ll wait for the food.”
“Okay,” Kisa replied, and headed into the bathroom.
Sincere undressed down to his underclothes and slipped on a pair of basketball shorts. He sat on the foot of the bed and flipped through the channels until he landed on ESPN. Just as he got comfortable, there was a knock at the door. That must be the food, he thought, hopping up. Sincere looked out the peephole and saw a female room-service attendant. Her jet-black bob covered the side of her face. Sincere opened the door and held it open for her.
The room service attendant pulled the dining cart inside the room. Just as she was about to pass Sincere, she pressed a taser gun against his neck. He dropped to the floor, never knowing what hit him.
Kisa stepped out of the shower and called out to her husband, “Sincere, did the food come yet?”
There was no answer.
Kisa assumed that he had dozed off or stepped out to get ice. She hurriedly slipped into a pair of white terry-cloth pajama pants and exited the bathroom, pulling a thin white tank top over her head. She rounded the corner to the sight of Sincere unconscious on the floor. Kisa rushed to his side. “Sin, what happened?” She jerked his body. “Baby, wake up,” Kisa said, checking his neck for a pulse. Feeling the rhythm of his heart, Kisa spun around on her knees to see if her phone was nearby. She looked up to find Rellie smiling sinisterly.
Rellie advanced on Kisa quickly, kicking her hard in the side and knocking her onto Sincere. “Bet you didn’t think you would see me again.” She kicked her again in the same spot.
