You might not be able to tell from television, but Adam is kind and gentle and not at all like you might imagine a celebrity to be. Plus he’s only twenty-five. That’s just nine years older than London is, so it’s not like it’s a crime or anything, she’s pretty sure. London knows much more about Adam than just what people know from television. She knows that he loves animals as much as she does, and that he had trouble in school when he was younger because he spent all his time volunteering at the local animal shelter and at the aquarium, because he knew what his true calling in life was from a young age. She knows that he grew up poor in the slums of Los Angeles, with just his mom and his younger sister, and that he felt like he had to be the man of the house, which put a lot of pressure on him. She knows that when he got older he worked really hard in school and earned a scholarship to the University of California, because he wanted to do something bigger with his life than just sit around on a Saturday night and get wasted with his friends, did she know what he meant?
Of course she knew what he meant. It’s like he read her journal or something. It’s like he knows her life. That’s why they are so close, even though they have never met. That’s why she knows they are meant to be together. Adam is her spirit guide. He knows her soul, he gets that she sometimes feels like an alien in her family, that she wants to do something bigger with her life, too.
