Truly, though, I’m so grateful for the Serious Publishing Business™ that you balance out with Ridiculously Fun Times™. You’ve all made the insanity of the last few years actually seem partly sane (ha!), and for that I’ll always be so grateful. Big hugs in particular go to Ali Green and Anabel Pandiella for having to deal with the bulk of Lyn Drama™—may there be many more cocktails (and adventures) in our futures!

This book has come together thanks to a fabulous editorial team, so massive thanks must go to Lex Hirst for your clever eye on the manuscript. (And, it must be mentioned, for experiencing a real-life police takedown with me, followed by an underground boating voyage beneath a prison (in the dark) … My goodness, whoever said being an author would be boring was so wrong!) Also thanks to my meticulous copy editor, Tegan Morrison, and my fabulous proofreader, Kaitlin Severini—I’m so grateful for your help in bringing Weapon to life (and for catching those last-minute slips)!

To my agent, Victoria Wells Arms, thank you for believing in me and continuing to get my books out into the world. Also to my critique readers, especially Krystal Gagen-Spriggs and Alison Elzayed, thank you for your unbridled enthusiasm for this series.

To all my author friends and industry peeps, thank you for your support on this Great Big Publishing Journey. Special mention to Sarah J. Maas—your friendship means the world to me, and I’m so excited for all that’s ahead. (Also, since being friends means being honest with each other, I really do think you should get your money back on that “squirrel-proof” bird feeder. #Fail)

To booksellers, teachers, librarians, teacher-librarians, journalists, bloggers, reviewers, bookstagrammers, booktubers, and everyone else who spreads the word about my books, thank you. Please don’t ever doubt how important your reviews and recommendations are. I’m living proof that they make such a difference, and I’m forever grateful for all that you do.

Last but definitely not least, to you, dear reader. May you always know that you are loved and appreciated; may you always understand that your words are powerful, and that they are needed.

Be the voice of your generation.

And remember:

One word could change the world.
