“You better be planning on sweeping that shit up, or I’ll make you lick it up.” I made sure my tone was calm, but I knew I couldn’t keep the glare out of my stare. He knew it wasn’t an empty threat. I’d made him lick up a couple of things a time or two. There came a point in any relationship when someone had to become the alpha. With Abel’s unpredictable behavior, I needed to take control, or we would’ve been caught before we’d even gotten started. Our babysitter had been a great example of his lack of control or long-term game thought process. It was also the first fuck up and mess I’d had to clean up after my brother, but it certainly hadn’t been the last.
He sighed like I was the biggest pain in his ass, which I probably was, but he grabbed the broom and swept the little shells out of the open bay door. I liked cleanliness in my workspaces, and every tool had its place, which drove my brother crazy. But there was a sick little sense of satisfaction in that knowledge.
“They’re all swept. Now tell me what did you get up to,” Abel asked, and all I could do was stare as he stepped over the handle of the broom and began stroking the wood like it was a massive cock between his legs.
“You worry me sometimes, brother.” Making my way over to the worktable, I folded the rag and put it in the dirty pile. “I found the girl I mentioned.”
“No shit? That was fast.”
“It helped that her boyfriend or husband—I don’t know what his perceived relationship status with her might be—but he drives an expensive vehicle. Oddly enough, she found me.” I turned to face my brother.
Abel stopped his now make-believe cowboy roping routine that he was doing to stare at me. “Say that again?”
“She walked into the diner where I was eating breakfast.”
“Damn man, that shit is meant to be, like the cosmos were making it happen,” Abel smiled wide. I didn’t think he could look any more ridiculous, yet he somehow managed it.
“I don’t think the cosmos had anything to do with it, but it was fortuitous, and don’t think I don’t see you mocking me, you prick.” I glanced over at Abel, who laughed. I smirked at him. “I’m in my planning stage, but this is not going to be a fast grab.”
“Oh?”
“She’s going through Quantico to become an FBI agent.” I turned to lean against the workbench and Abel’s face transformed from shocked to hysterical laughing until he had tears pouring down his cheeks.
