- THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING
Marlow:You mentioned Mia Anderson. Wasn’t she the one who spoke to Harry about it?
Mike:Yes. That’s the point. It was nothing to do with her. Only she started it, and it snowballed and she wouldn’t let it go.
I was going to give Harry this, you know. (shows letter)
Marlow:What is this?
Mike:My resignation. I’ve been carrying it around with me for the last two weeks. To be honest, I don’t really want to go.
Marlow:Can you think of any reason why Mia Anderson was so keen to complain, if you believe you did nothing wrong?
Mike:(shrugs) None at all. She was nice as anything to my face. But there was something about her. This fiery spark. I saw it at Harry’s party Friday night – the way she blew.
I don’t know. I don’t really know her at all – not like some of those girls in the office do – but there was something I couldn’t quite put my finger on.
Bryony Knight, Account Assistant
Marlow:In your own words, Mia Anderson was amazing at her job.
Bryony:(nods) She was.
Marlow:But wasn’t there an issue with a TV advertising budget?
Bryony:Yes, but that was an understandable mistake. Anyone could have made it.
Marlow:Even someone who had experience in TV advertising?
Bryony:I don’t know for sure, but yes, I would have thought so.
Marlow:Did Mia Anderson lead you to believe she had that kind of experience?
Bryony:Of course she had. She had tons of it. Has Mia done something wrong? It sounds like you think she has, by the questions you’re asking me. She didn’t – she wouldn’t have … I mean, it was no way her. She wouldn’t have started the fire.
Marlow:What makes you so sure of that, Bryony?
Bryony:Well, I just know she wouldn’t. She’s a lovely person.
Marlow:How well do you know her?
Bryony:I know her really well. I mean, I report to her and everything, but we’re friends, too.
Marlow:Tell me about your friendship. What do you do together?
Bryony:Well, you know, we go out for drinks after work, that sort of thing.
Marlow:Anything else?
Bryony:She’s more of a friend at work.
Marlow:So, other than a few drinks after work, have you met up with Mia on any other occasion?
Bryony:No, but we’ve been out a lot of times. Most Friday nights we go down to the pub.
Marlow:What do you know about Mia’s home life?
Bryony:Like what?
Marlow:I don’t know – you tell me. Anything at all you know about Mia Anderson’s personal life. Who does she live with?
Bryony:Well, I know for sure she lives on her own.
Marlow:Oh?
