  38. Why I Wrote The Work Wife by Alison B. Hart

“Thank you so much, everyone,” Holly said. “You’ve all worked so hard tonight. Now go enjoy the party. Go! Have some fun! Jane, could you stay a minute?”

Erin and Mark and the rest of Jane’s team left the office.

“Long night, huh?” Jane said, as Holly joined her on the sofa.

“You’ve been such a lifesaver, Jane. What would I do without you?”

“I’m happy to help, Holly. You know that.”

“If you really mean it, there’s just one more thing I need you to do.”

Tweet: Guys. Don’t Hate Me But… I think I like her?

The InsideScoop on the Hollywood Couple

Who Posted that Insane Chief of Staff Ad

Amanda Baker, staff writer

This morning a 1,000-word ad for a chief of staff to a wealthy family in Los Angeles went viral. Even by Hollywood standards, the Hollywood Couple as they’re now known is asking for a lot. They’re searching for a quarterback to help raise their two (presumably brilliant) children, run their five homes in three countries (all mansions, natch), engineer a diet, exercise, and wellness plan, plan their vacations (all-inclusive resorts and coach travel are obviously forbidden), speak Mandarin with the kids, and support the parents in “maintaining a loving, structured, and enriching environment for family life.” Did we mention the ideal candidate will have an IQ over 150, SCUBA certification, and a working familiarity with HVAC and defibrillators? Duh, obviously.

This evening we spoke on the phone with the female half of the Hollywood Couple (who wishes to remain anonymous) to get answers to your burning questions.

InsideScoop: Let’s start with the obvious. What were you thinking when you wrote that ad?

Anonymous: Well, first of all, I didn’t write it. And I’ll be honest, I was taken aback when I read it the first time. I completely get where people are coming from. I was shocked, too! I thought, hey, wait a minute. I’m a normal person. I’m not high-maintenance. Isn’t this whole thing a little much?
