  32. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
  33. Also by Amanda Foody

This seagull Beast skewers fish out of the water with its long, spearlike beak. But when it comes to vexing the Sea’s beaches, it’s unclear which is worse: its front end or its back end!

TARMACEDON

Wilderland: the Mountains, the Woods

Class: Mythic

These massive creatures can stand comfortably on either four legs or two, a talent which I believe evolved from their ability to slam their front legs on the ground and generate earthquakes. They hibernate in the Winters by turning their entire bodies to stone. Warning: do not approach wearing the color red.

TENEPIE

Wilderland: the Mountains, the Desert

Class: Mythic

These cunning crowlike Beasts can control their bodies and shadows separately, though each always remains attached to the other. Their shadows are especially ticklish.

TORTAR

Wilderland: the Sea, the Desert, the Jungle, the Mountains

Class: Mythic

With a lifespan of almost five hundred years, these tortoise Beasts could probably tell us much about forgotten Lore Keeper history. Unfortunately, they are exceptionally hard to find, as their mist Lore often hides them within a mirage.

WATERMOOSE

Wilderland: The Tundra, the Woods

Class: Prime

These water-breathing mooselike Beasts can be tricky to find. The best way to spot them is their antlers, which rise from lakes and rivers and look like bramble.

ZAPRAY

Wilderland: the Sea

Class: Mythic

These large stingray Beasts dwell in the deep waters of the Sea, especially off the coast of the Isle of Veir. Their powerful electric Lore makes them among the deadliest Beasts of the Sea. Avoid their territory unless you’d like to find yourself deep-fried!

STONETOAD (ENTRY BY TADG MURDOCK)

WILDERLAND: THE SEA

CLASS: ???

AN UGLY, WARTY TOAD WITH A GEMSTONE IN ITS FOREHEAD. PEES SECRETES POISON. DOES NOT RESPECT AUTHORITY.
