I really hope you enjoyed reading The Street Party as much as I enjoyed writing it. It made me think hard about all the benefits of great female friendship when a woman goes through difficult times, and how important it is. Also, I considered how tough or unforgiving mums can sometimes be towards one another – though so often I think it’s because they don’t feel very good about themselves. There is great solidarity in female friendship, I think, isn’t there – and maybe also an opportunity to stop judging ourselves (and each other) so harshly, as some of the mothers in the book do, to their detriment.
Once again, if you enjoyed the book, I’m so pleased – and I’d be very grateful if you could write a quick review of it or tell someone you know that you liked it. And if you did enjoy it, I’d love to hear what you think – it makes such a difference helping new readers to discover one of my books for the first time.
And of course I love hearing from any of my readers, because what is a writer without a reader? We would be nothing without you!
You can get in touch on my Facebook page, through Twitter, Goodreads or my website.
Thanks so much,
Claire

Thanks to the lovely, calm and enthusiastic Eli Keren, my agent at United – I’m excited to tread this new path with you and feel blessed that we’re on the same team!
Thank you to everyone at Bookouture; above all, to my super-enthusiastic new editor Cara Chimirri, whose insights I already appreciate, and to Jessie Botterill for last year’s cheerleading; to Peta Nightingale, and to the eagle eyes of Fraser Crichton and Laura Kincaid. Thank you to both the Alexandra Holmeses! One, managing editor of Bookouture; the other, my cousin Alex Holmes, for mining her Trinidadian heritage for culinary favourites.
